February 8, 2017 • The Good Neighbor Program Evaluation has finished and their report is available.
May 25, 2016 • The JFF Study Group has issued its final report, titled Pesticide Use by Large Agribusinesses on Kaua‘i. The report includes the body text and two appendices, as well as a compilation of all of the comments received during the public comment period. The transmittal letter from Peter Adler to DoA Director Scott Enright and Kaua‘i Mayor Bernard Carvalho is also posted. This project has now concluded.
April 14, 2016 • From the end of the public comment period, the JFF group has been reviewing the comments, taking them into consideration, and editing the draft as needed. There have been unexpected occurrences, and Update 9 addresses them, outlines the progress of the project, and includes a personal statement from Peter Adler.
April 4, 2016 • The JFF group held an informational briefing at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. All eight members of the group presented the facts of the project and answered questions from the crowd. The process was mediated by Peter Adler. All of the comments submitted at this meeting as well as those submitted online will be considered by the study group. The slides of the presentation are available here. The public comment period will end on April 8th at 5pm.
March 10, 2016 • The JFF group is accepting public comments on its Draft Final Report. The Report comes in three parts:
The Study Group is interested in two kinds of feedback. First, are there specific errors with any of the factual data or empirical evidence that has been gathered? Second, are there specific and relevant factual data or peer reviewed empirical evidence the group has missed? If so, please explain why such information and data is pertinent to pesticide use on Kauai and provide a link or reference to the information or data for the group to consider. Comments should be limited to 250 words or less.

There will be a public presentation and informational briefing on the report held on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 7pm to 9pm at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center, 3215 Kapule Hwy, Lihue, HI.
January 5, 2016 • The team has received new information that
needs to be considered before a draft can be issued for public comment. The release of the current draft report as well as the public meeting have been postponed. A revised schedule will be announced soon.
December 28, 2015 • Another schedule change has occurred. The revised schedule includes the current schedule as well as the the procedure for submitting comments when the final draft is made public and the outline for the report.
December 12, 2015 • The team has been working furiously to create a draft of the final report to release to the public for comments about factual additions or oversights. The date for the public meeting has moved to January to allow for sufficient time for each step in the report rollout. An update with a quick review of this project, a revised schedule of completion, and instructions how to submit comments is available.
November 4, 2015 • In phase 3, the team has begun to consolidate their research into drafts of the final report and formulate recommendations for further action. Before the end of the year, there will be a public meeting and release of the final draft of the report for comments. A full update is available with a general schedule as this project nears the conclusion.
August 31, 2015 • Regular team meetings continue along with invitational listening sessions with health professionals and community members of the West side of Kaua‘i, among others. This update also contains the group’s response to a recent article in The Guardian about pesticides in Kaua‘i and the JFF team.
June 9, 2015 • The full team met for the third time to hear from different members of the community and State and County departments about information they have regarding pesticide use and its possible effects. Smaller committees within the group continue to meet to delve into different facets of the overall issue. Future listening sessions are planned with different sectors. A update outlines the team’s progress so far and lists the questions that are guiding the research.
April 13, 2015 • While still early in the process, the JFF team has made considerable progress during the initial information gathering stage. The JFF team met several times and created a draft of the assertions to be investigated about pesticide use on Kaua‘i. For an update of the team’s progress, update.
March 7, 2015 • The JFF team met face-to-face for the first time and signed a charter to show their understanding of and agreement with the purpose and procedures of this joint fact-finding project.
