David Newton is an international mediator, conciliator and facilitator.
His background is as an employment lawyer, head of a corporate legal department and former Secretary General of an Australian dispute centre. He has been a mediator since 1987 and has managed over 5,000 commercial, government and community disputes with settlements totaling in excess of $1 billion with special experience in franchise, senior employee termination, public and general commercial disputes.
He has conducted mediator training in Australia, China, Macau, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Bahrain, Singapore, New Zealand and Hong Kong. David is an Accredited Mediator under the Australian National Mediation Standards and a member of the mediator panels of arbitration bodies in Hong Kong, Malaysia and India.. He is the Australian Cinema Code Conciliator. He holds various statutory appointments from the Australian Government as Mediation Adviser, Ombudsman and Dispute Resolution Adviser.
He has developed a specialization in designing and managing dispute resolution systems for various industries in various countries including developing panels of dispute resolution neutrals and appointing them to assist to resolve problems.
